Comms Planning Manager

  • COMMERCIAL ACUMEN Work collectively with planning and implementation teams to deliver Vizeum and client business objectives and financial targets

This role we have is across 2 accounts. STX Entertainment and TSB.

Client profiles:

STX Entertainment are a brand new film studio with big growth ambitions. They are the newest kid on the Studio lot and are uniquely set up for 21st Century consumers and determined to upset the current status quo. STX has been active in the USA for 3 years and are now setting up the UK and International operations. STX’s ambitions are to be a top 5 player in the market within the next 3 years. STX’s focus is on mainstream releases with A list actors in leading roles. The account is fast paced as well as exciting and fun to work on with an emphasis on the latest innovations.

TSB is a different kind of bank; they were born a challenger bank and they apply that mentality to everything they do. Launching the brand as recently as 2013 they’re unique position has seen them grow to be Britain’s most recommended High Street bank. They purpose is to provide local banking for Britain to help local people, businesses and communities thrive together. This account gives a great breadth of exposure across both Product marketing (personal banking, insurance, loans etc) and Purpose marketing (amplifying TSB’s Partnership with Pride of Britain Programme and TSB Local Pride Programmes). Further, there is the opportunity to work with multiple agencies across the DAN group as part of the wider TSB team.

Previous film experience is preferable but a passion for film is essential as well as a passion for Media and Planning. Strong Planning knowledge is a must with a good understanding of TV planning in particular. Each of these accounts are heavily client facing, so strong client management skills and someone who enjoys working collaboratively with clients is a must.

Role Responsibility

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Focus

  • Contribute thinking to shape client’s strategic comms plan; provide innovative communication solutions for your clients
  • Keep pace with change, continuously working to make sure self and team are at the forefront of current and future industry and client thinking, to deliver fresh client solutions

Internal & External Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with clients at brand manager level
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to work collaboratively and effectively in order to deliver brilliant plans, client service and maintain strong relationships
  • Know and understand the client, their business/brand, their customer, their economic environment, industry, target customer and who their competitors are

Delivery Excellence

  • Support AD in delivering outstanding Planning. Do this through challenging client briefs to ensure clarity on objectives, delivering outstanding Integrated Comms Planning process and executing innovative communication solutions
  • Be a trusted expert on media solutions
  • Project manage team to deliver excellent execution of clients comms plans:
    • Manage budgets and timelines
    • Connect with internal specialists to provide them with the right brief and negotiate timelines, resource allocation and deliverables
    • Manage client meeting content – organise weekly status update meetings on comms plan and up and coming future campaigns (if required by client). Include all relevant internal and external stakeholders eg partner agencies etc
    • Lead frequent internal status update meetings
    • Provide external stakeholders with accurate and relevant plan details and content
    • Escalate to AD potential issues eg balance of time vs. revenue specialist use – understand the commercial impact of this
    • Manage the team to provide accurate and relevant status reports  
  • Be the ‘gatekeeper’ for quality control and the first port of call on day to day queries and questions and plan progress
  • Coordinate invoicing and payment process
  • Know how to use and utilise all Vizeum tools – eg CCS TGI, BLOGS
  • Mange Exec to compile required data. Analyse information to provide client with key insights eg competitor strategy, how their customers consume media, target measurements etc
  • Present confidently and with impact

Team

  • Consistently demonstrate Vizeum values and behaviours supporting team to work passionately and effectively for Vizeum and the client
  • Inspire and develop direct reports:
    • Motivate the team to understand and ‘live’ our vision
    • Drive their training on relevant internal and external tools and systems eg CCS, booking, finance systems and processes – make them experts
    • Collaborate with AD to set SMART, motivating goals and career development plans
    • Hold performance reviews and provide frequent feedback
  • Deliver relevant ‘on the job’ training to drive collective team knowledge and expertise

Commercial Edge

  • Understand fee structures and commercial terms for media used in client contract
  • Use knowledge of Vizeum and Dentsu Aegis products and services to support team to deliver innovative and creative solutions to client briefs
  • Work with AD to continuously review plans to look at how things could be done more efficiently to drive greater margin and value
  • Manage team to deliver KPI’s eg service PRF and accurately track costs
