Job Overview

We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join us and help move the finance team forward here at Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN). We are looking for someone eager who can support the whole team and who wants to build a career in finance.

 

Job Introduction

This role will give you a good range of experience as it straddles the FP&A and Central Finance teams. Not only will you spend part of each month getting involved in the month-end process but you will also help the Central Finance function with various tasks by providing general administrative assistance.

 

Role Responsibility

Some of the core responsibilities of the role are as follows:

FP&A

  • Chase brands to meet submission deadlines, working with the external team
  • Assist with the UK month end close and coordinate EMEA queries
  • Assist with the UK monthly outlook process
  • Become the UK BPC expert and provide training to brands

 

 

Central Finance

 

  • Raising new Purchase Orders, ensuring past Purchase Orders have been closed.
  • Providing general advice on Purchase Orders
  • Investigating queries regarding invoices and Purchase Orders
  • Following up with the payables team on payment status & remittance advice.
  • Ensuring payments have been processed for overdue invoices.
  • Requesting account statements for suppliers to ensure outstanding payments are kept to a reasonable level.
  • Sending queries to Suppliers/budget holders with regards to missing invoices (for direct debit payments/contractor fees)
  • Raising requests for manual payments and new suppliers.
  • Completing the forms for manual payments and new suppliers.
  • Following up with the payables team to ensure request has been processed.
  • Recurring journals: ensuring journals are prepared accordingly to the schedule Analysing nominal accounts
  • Informing Brands of incoming recharges and ensuring recharges are carried out by month-end (e.g Credit Insurance and VAT costs)
  • Assist with the month end and forecasting process for Central finance
  • Assist with Cost Centre Management

 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a high attention and an analytical mind as there will be a lot of information for you to analyse and investigate. This role will give you some exposure to financial reporting so some knowledge of basic accounting concepts is desirable but not mandatory. Experience of working in a finance environment would be advantageous but not essential as we’re willing to train the right person.
