Reward Manager

Job Introduction

As a Reward Manager for Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN for short), we want you to help us attract, retain and engage with both future and current employees through a simple but effective reward strategy. You’ll work across all aspects of the reward spectrum touching on pay, benefits, international assignees, incentive and recognition programs.

Role Responsibility

There are some key things that you’ll be expected to deliver in your role, and if you do those things you’ll be on the right track to being successful, some of those key deliverables will be:

You’ll be inputting into the UK Reward strategy but working closer on actually making it happen. We want it to drive talent attraction and retention whilst ensuring that the UK business is legally compliant. I’m sure you’ll know how important this legal aspect will be and be fully confident in ensuring we’re doing exactly what we need.

In 2015/16 we carried out our first banding and benchmarking project and we’ll need to continue to evolve this and ensure that our structures and roles are fit to future proof our business. You’ll take a lead on this and will be the ‘go to’ person in HR to for all banding and benchmarking discussions.

We’ll also need you to use your influence to challenge line managers, Recruitment Managers & HRBP’s on appropriate and competitive remuneration practices and anything related to compensation matters, this always seems to be most in demand during the annual bonus and salary review processes, although there is currently monthly conversations taking place around ‘buy backs’ and promotions too.

The Ideal Candidate

How you’ll behave:

For us, how you get things done is just as important as actually getting them done. You’ll be a natural collaborator and will ensure you keep all relevant Centre’s of Excellence updated and give them as much notice on those deadlines that just cannot be moved (we all know they exist as much as we try to make them more flexible). You’ll sit at the heart of DAN and will cover all brands, however you’ll need to rely on your HR colleagues to help you understand the individual brand context at times so sharing information and asking questions will keep you feeling informed.

We’re big fans of our HR team taking responsibility for issues and challenges rather than passing the buck, so if something unexpected comes up – you’re role won’t start and stop at set points and we’d like someone who will take ownership of what needs doing.

Essentially we’re a really good team to work in but we do forget very quickly how new people can be, so you’ll need to rely on your own experience and confidence at times but use your manager and team as a sense check before making things happen.

We can’t overstate the amount of ambiguity we work with here at DAN, if you need structure and brilliant data (and systems) then we’re not in a position to be able to offer this. You’ll be required to make decisions at times without all the required information but that soon becomes part of the norm. You’ll have to be able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment and be flexible enough to respond to the business as appropriate.

The team you’ll work in:

You’ll report into Brid Hayden, Head of Reward for the UK & Ireland, working with a Benefits Manager, a Benefits Coordinator and an HRMI Analyst to deliver a challenging Reward agenda. The team is managed via a clear list of outputs and deliverables; you’ll have guidance on what you need to achieve but the onus will be on you to go and make it happen. Since your work will often be reported up to an EMEA or Global level you’ll need to keep Brid informed of progress and issues through regular and detailed updates.
