Senior Recruitment Manager

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Senior Recruitment Manager who’ll make a real contribution to creating a culture where the best and brightest people from every background can benefit from the fantastic career opportunities across our network  driving diversity and inclusion and supporting career growth across our network of 4,000 people across the UK & Ireland.  You’ll be comfortable influencing CEO’s, MD’s and other senior stakeholders whilst being able to balance delivery of strategic projects and leading a team of Recruitment Managers.

As we continue our fast paced growth, we need people to take a more holistic view across  Denstu Aegis Network (DAN), breaking down silos and creating a consistent employee experience, rather than working independently across the 20 individual agencies that make up the network. Our team has been on a huge upward curve (grown from 6 people to 18) over the past 3 years turning us from being dependent on agencies for 90% of roles to now delivering a 96% direct hiring strategy. One question we often ask is do we truly and honestly hire the best talent out there or the easiest to find – this is a question we’d like you to help us answer along the way.

Role Responsibility

This is a fixed term role (9 month maternity cover) and you’ll need to use your experience of creating a recruitment strategy but also helping to deliver it. You will enjoy coaching, influencing and constructively challenge your key stakeholders (often your most senior managers) at the relevant time which will help you build trusting and credible business relationships. These stakeholders will also be your HR colleagues in the centres of excellence as well as CEO’s, MD’s, COO’s etc. 

You’ll share our view that while the recruitment process has barely changed in the past few decades, it’s time to change that and lead the way by bringing new ideas. So far this year we’ve started using online and live escape room games and video interviewing to ensure we’re appealing to future talent who are expecting different ways of working once they join us. This role will have elements of recruitment delivery, however the bulk of the role is around team management, stakeholder management and helping us to drive fun marketing campaigns to deliver the best candidates in the market.

The Ideal Candidate

We can’t emphasise enough it’s as much about attitude as ability; be brave, be curious and don’t be afraid to allow yourself to fail (as long as you learn from it) and you’ll be a success in the role. We hope you’ll be someone who wants to naturally grow your influence and reputation and get pulled into plenty more things across the network rather than wait to be told what to do (we’re in no way micro managers).

Media experience will not be essential, you’ll be an HR/ Recruitment professional first and foremost and we’ll give you time to understand the business. We will however need you to be confident, diplomatic and able to work with high levels of ambiguity at times. But in return you’ll get a role that will allow a high degree of autonomy and the freedom to plan for your next career step through the exposure you’ll receive to all parts of our business.
