What's the role?
Our vision is to consistently offer a world-class marketing effectiveness proposition on a global scale. At its core the purpose of this role is to:
Developing technology products and services that support the business and its clients to make the most of their marketing budgets. These products range from data visualisation systems to complex statistical analysis and optimisation packages, and use modern technologies like HTML5.
As a software developer you will be involved in developing statistical modelling and optimisation software and reporting tools to improve the performance of digital marketing for our clients.
It is also worth noting, that given the nature of our work, developers at all levels get involved in supporting our tools to some extent. We believe this is important for quality control and is a significant point of difference for our business.
What will I be doing?
- Design, code, debug and document new software and program modifications using agreed standards and tools
- Maintain and support existing software applications, including fixing bugs and creating user licences
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand software requirements and develop technical specification documents
- Develop new and support existing analytics algorithms to power our suite of modelling, optimisation and forecasting solutions
- Maintain relevant documentation for auditing, project control and database purpose
Who are you?
You have a proven track record of developing multi layered web applications in .Net within a commercial environment and experience of creating visually appealing web interfaces. Due to the complex nature of our tools a solid understanding of mathematics and statistics is required and experience in handling and interacting with large data sets (GB-TB data sizes).
You have solid communication, written and verbal skills – the ability to present and explain complex information clearly to people at all levels
Competency in using Microsoft Office packages particularly Excel. Experience of statistical tools (e.g. SAS, R) would be a distinct advantage
The ideal applicant is likely to have graduated in a statistical or computational discipline or a degree with a significant computational element.
