What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Locations Manager to join our amazing team. Working across one of our biggest clients you will have great exposure to one of the biggest and most iconic brands in the UK.
Overall purpose of the Locations Manager role in MKTG
As the Locations Manager, your role will be to effectively assist with managing the company’s relationships with clients / prospects and help ensure the company delivers its financial and strategic objectives.
Primary function of the role is to effectively manage the research, negotiation, scheduling, booking and financial processing of locations for short and long-term campaigns:
- Responsible for sourcing appropriate locations, ensuring that they are in-line with the campaign / activation specification
- Negotiate competitive rates for the client
Role of Locations Manager in relation to Client Manager / Business Director
As the Locations Manager your role will be to successfully help to maintain, develop and grow the client’s account and help the Client Manager and/or Business Director achieve this growth. The Locations Manager will also help support the profitable and high quality live implementation of any commissioned projects from a locations perspective.
- Help your manager to establish, develop and maintain relationships with key clients, client managers or planners at your key client company or prospects
- Help your manager to develop ideas, proposals, budgets and relationships to convert those opportunities identified or secure briefs for future business opportunities
- To work with your manager to ensure the successful and profitable delivery of live client projects once commissioned to exceed the expectations of the client / objectives of the brief
- Lead the locations element of the campaign based on set criteria – using insights, data and the client brief to research and identify suitable locations, negotiating best rates and follow through to processing the booking once approved by the client
- Manage a team of Locations Executives and temporary staff where required
The Ideal Candidate
Do you have?
Are you a self-starter who is focused, self-motivated and ambitious? A person with great organizational skills? Then you have the 4 key qualities that we are looking for!
A strong Locations Manager is a problem solver who has a well-rounded knowledge of the experiential marketing environment, ideally you would have been working in this industry a couple of years. You will need to be able to strong relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Presenting to clients, co-workers and senior stakeholders must be something you are comfortable with and able to perform regularly.
As a Locations Manager, you will be comfortable with finance, spreadsheets and number, you will need to be able to keep track of month to month budgeting and reporting.
A strong instinct for sales is an important quality- the ability to spot an opportunity and act on it!
Must haves of a Locations Manager.
- Experience in location sourcing and negotiation on large scale campaigns, is vital
- Experience in producing experiential events preferred (can demonstrate core competencies of compiling RAMS, method statements, budget sheets)

Sophie-Amber Roberts – Locations Manager
I’m Sophie, a Locations Manager at MKTG working on the Coca-Cola account.
I have had experience of working on multiple sampling campaigns but what makes the recent major soft drinks sampling campaign unique is it’s fast-paced nature and the team’s ability to adapt to the client’s needs. Whilst working on the campaign we all became specialists in our own areas, which in my case was locations, this meant establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the various land owners and councils to ensure that we were always targeting high-footfall areas, all whilst working collaboratively as part of the wider team. Strategically booking sites that consequently resulted in high sampling figures and seeing how this added to achieving our overall target became very fulfilling! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed working on the account and the team dynamic ensured that I always felt part of the team which I’m sure you will too!
Joe Schneider – Operations
I’m Joe, Operations Manager at MKTG. This year I have been involved in the operations and logistics on the largest soft drinks sampling campaign ever conducted in the UK. When not in the office you will find me cycling, running and sailing. I’m always keen on meeting new people and very much enjoy socialising with colleagues and friends after a long working week.
What makes MKTG unique is our ambitious temperament and creative mind-set. We’re a hardworking team but also support one another throughout any campaign. At times you will feel challenged, however this will only encourage you to succeed further and do better.
