We're looking for a keen-minded enthusiastic candidate with an eye for detail, and a real passion for User Experience (UX) design for a role here in our beautiful Edinburgh office. You'll need to know the fundamentals of the internet, user research and user experience design.
In the User Experience (UX) team we’re responsible for designing the experience of a digital product – how easy it is to navigate, how it behaves, and how it feels. The ultimate aim of our game is to design something that’s not only usable, but that surprises and delights people. If a website is frustrating, annoying, or just plain dull then perhaps that site needs our help. Beyond the design of the functionality, the UX team act as custodians of the product’s behaviour and design, making sure that the whole team’s vision is maintained right through to the finished product; so we are involved in most of the production process in some way or another.
You'll need to know the fundamentals of the internet, online marketing, and user experience.
- User research
- Creation of wireframes and prototypes
- Content audits
- Interpretation of test results
- Development of information architectures
- User testing
- Briefing of projects to design and development teams
The Ideal Candidate
Reporting to the Head of UX, you will be part of a multi-skilled team delivering world-class digital products for a range of national and international clients. You'll meet the following requirements:
- Experience in creating website information architectures and wireframes
- A solid education in design principles and aesthetics
- A good technical understanding of web technologies (or a basic one with an interest in learning)
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Great team player with strong work ethic and the ability to roll your sleeves up and get on with it
- Friendly and approachable with a willingness to learn
- Eagle-eyed attention to detail
Company pension scheme, a dedicated volunteering day, your birthday off and legendary Whitespace social events. Numerous social clubs within Whitespace including Print club and the always amazing Bake Club. (And we have our own bar. Not a tiny little beer fridge in the kitchen but a proper bar!).
